BACKGROUND: This study aimed to explore potential indicators associated with the neoadjuvant efficacy of TCbHP regimen (taxane, carboplatin, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab) in HER2 + breast cancer (BrCa) patients. METHODS: A total of 120 plasma samples from 40 patients with HER2 + BrCa were prospectively collected at three treatment times of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) with TCbHP regimen. Serum metabolites were analyzed based on LC-MS and GC-MS data. Random forest was used to establish predictive models based on pre-therapeutic differentially expressed metabolites. Time series analysis was used to obtain potential monitors for treatment response. Transcriptome analysis was performed in nine available pre­therapeutic specimens of core needle biopsies. Integrated analyses of metabolomics and transcriptomics were also performed in these nine patients. qRT-PCR was used to detect altered genes in trastuzumab-sensitive and trastuzumab-resistant cell lines. RESULTS: Twenty-one patients achieved pCR, and 19 patients achieved non-pCR. There were significant differences in plasma metabolic profiles before and during treatment. A total of 100 differential metabolites were identified between pCR patients and non-pCR patients at baseline; these metabolites were markedly enriched in 40 metabolic pathways. The area under the curve (AUC) values for discriminating the pCR and non-PCR groups from the NAT of the single potential metabolite [sophorose, N-(2-acetamido) iminodiacetic acid, taurine and 6-hydroxy-2-aminohexanoic acid] or combined panel of these metabolites were greater than 0.910. Eighteen metabolites exhibited potential for monitoring efficacy. Several validated genes might be associated with trastuzumab resistance. Thirty-nine altered pathways were found to be abnormally expressed at both the transcriptional and metabolic levels. CONCLUSION: Serum-metabolomics could be used as a powerful tool for exploring informative biomarkers for predicting or monitoring treatment efficacy. Metabolomics integrated with transcriptomics analysis could assist in obtaining new insights into biochemical pathophysiology and might facilitate the development of new treatment targets for insensitive patients.

PURPOSE: Accurate and rapid needle localization on 3D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is critical for MRI-guided percutaneous interventions. The current workflow requires manual needle localization on 3D MRI, which is time-consuming and cumbersome. Automatic methods using 2D deep learning networks for needle segmentation require manual image plane localization, while 3D networks are challenged by the need for sufficient training datasets. This work aimed to develop an automatic deep learning-based pipeline for accurate and rapid 3D needle localization on in vivo intra-procedural 3D MRI using a limited training dataset. METHODS: The proposed automatic pipeline adopted Shifted Window (Swin) Transformers and employed a coarse-to-fine segmentation strategy: (1) initial 3D needle feature segmentation with 3D Swin UNEt TRansfomer (UNETR); (2) generation of a 2D reformatted image containing the needle feature; (3) fine 2D needle feature segmentation with 2D Swin Transformer and calculation of 3D needle tip position and axis orientation. Pre-training and data augmentation were performed to improve network training. The pipeline was evaluated via cross-validation with 49 in vivo intra-procedural 3D MR images from preclinical pig experiments. The needle tip and axis localization errors were compared with human intra-reader variation using the Wilcoxon signed rank test, with p < 0.05 considered significant. RESULTS: The average end-to-end computational time for the pipeline was 6 s per 3D volume. The median Dice scores of the 3D Swin UNETR and 2D Swin Transformer in the pipeline were 0.80 and 0.93, respectively. The median 3D needle tip and axis localization errors were 1.48 mm (1.09 pixels) and 0.98°, respectively. Needle tip localization errors were significantly smaller than human intra-reader variation (median 1.70 mm; p < 0.01). CONCLUSION: The proposed automatic pipeline achieved rapid pixel-level 3D needle localization on intra-procedural 3D MRI without requiring a large 3D training dataset and has the potential to assist MRI-guided percutaneous interventions.

PURPOSE: To investigate longitudinal thoracic aorta injury using 3-dimensional phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI) parameters and to evaluate their value for predicting the subsequent main adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in breast cancer patients receiving anthracyclines. METHODS: Between July 2020 and July 2021, eighty-eight female participants with breast cancer scheduled to receive anthracyclines with or without trastuzumab prospectively enrolled. Each subjects underwent 4D flow MRI at baseline, 3 and 6 months in relation to baseline. The diameter, peak velocity (Vpeak), wall shear stress (WSS), pulse wave velocity (PWV), energy loss (EL) and pressure gradient (PG) of thoracic aorta were measured. The association between these parameters and subsequent MACEs was performed by Cox proportional hazard models. RESULTS: Ten participants had subsequently MACEs. The Vpeak and PG gradually decreased and the WSS, PWV and EL progressively increased at 3 and 6 months compared with baseline. Adjusted multivariable analysis showed that the WSS of the proximal, mid- and distal ascending aorta [HR, 1.314 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.003, 1.898)], [HR, 1.320 (95% CI: 1.002, 1.801)] and [HR, 1.322 (95% CI: 1.001, 1.805)] and PWV of ascending aorta [HR, 2.223 (95% CI: 1.010, 4.653)] at 3 months were associated with subsequent MACEs. Combined WSS and PWV of ascending aorta at 3 months yielded the highest AUC (0.912) for predicting subsequent MACEs. CONCLUSION: Combined WSS and PWV of ascending aorta at 3 months is helpful for predicting the subsequent MACEs in breast cancer patients treated by anthracyclines.

The reduction of CO2 is known to promote increased alkene yields from alkane dehydrogenations when the reactions are cocatalyzed. The mechanism of this promotion is not understood in the context of catalyst active-site environments because CO2 is amphoteric, and even general aspects of the chemistry, including the significance of competing side reactions, differ significantly across catalysts. Atomically dispersed chromium cations stabilized in highly siliceous MFI zeolite are shown here to enable the study of the role of parallel CO2 reduction during ethylene-selective ethane dehydrogenation. Based on infrared spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy data interpreted through calculations using density functional theory (DFT), the synthesized catalyst contains atomically dispersed Cr cations stabilized by silanol nests in micropores. Reactor studies show that cofeeding CO2 increases stable ethylene-selective ethane dehydrogenation rates over a wide range of partial pressures. Operando X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) and extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) spectra indicate that during reaction at 650 °C the Cr cations maintain a nominal 2+ charge and a total Cr-O coordination number of approximately 2. However, CO2 reduction induces a change, correlated with the CO2 partial pressure, in the population of two distinct Cr-O scattering paths. This indicates that the promotional effect of parallel CO2 reduction can be attributed to a subtle change in Cr-O bond lengths in the local coordination environment of the active site. These insights are made possible by simultaneously fitting multiple EXAFS spectra recorded in different reaction conditions; this novel procedure is expected to be generally applicable for interpreting operando catalysis EXAFS data.

Methoxymethanol (CH3OCH2OH) is a reactive C2 ether-alcohol that is formed by coupling events in both heterogeneous and homogeneous systems. It is found in complex reactive environments-for example those associated with catalytic reactors, combustion systems, and liquid-phase mixtures of oxygenates. Using tunable synchrotron-generated vacuum-ultraviolet photons between 10.0 and 11.5 eV, we report on the photoionization spectroscopy of methoxymethanol. We determine that the lowest-energy photoionization process is the dissociative ionization of methoxymethanol via H-atom loss to produce [C2H5O2]+, a fragment cation with a mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) = 61.029. We measure the appearance energy of this fragment ion to be 10.24 ± 0.05 eV. The parent cation is not detected in the energy range examined. To elucidate the origin of the m/z = 61.029 (C2H5O2) fragment, we used automated electronic structure calculations to identify key stationary points on the cation potential energy surface and compute conformer-specific microcanonical rate coefficients for the important unimolecular processes. The calculated H-atom dissociation pathway results in a [C2H5O2]+ fragment appearance at 10.21 eV, in excellent agreement with experimental results.

OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to evaluate the correlation and diagnostic value of liver fat quantification in unenhanced dual-energy CT (DECT) using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) mDIXON-Quant sequence as reference standard in patients with breast cancer. METHODS: Patients with breast cancer were prospectively recruited between June 2018 and April 2020. Each patient underwent liver DECT and MRI mDIXON-Quant examination. The DECT-fat volume fraction (FVF) and liver-spleen attenuation differences were compared with the MRI-proton density fat fraction using scatterplots, Bland-Altman plots, and concordance correlation coefficient. Receiver operating characteristic curves were established to determine the diagnostic accuracy of hepatic steatosis by DECT. RESULTS: A total of 216 patients with breast cancer (mean age, 50.08 ± 9.33 years) were evaluated. The DECT-FVF correlated well with MRI-proton density fat fraction ( r2 = 0.902; P < 0.001), which was higher than the difference in liver-spleen attenuation ( r2 = 0.728; P < 0.001). Bland-Altman analysis revealed slight positive bias; the mean difference was 3.986. The DECT-FVF yielded an average concordance correlation coefficient of 0.677, which was higher than the difference of liver-spleen attenuation (-0.544). The DECT-FVF and the difference in liver-spleen attenuation both lead to mild overestimation of hepatic steatosis. The areas under the curve of DECT-FVF (0.956) were higher than the difference in liver-spleen attenuation (0.807) in identifying hepatic steatosis ( P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Dual-energy CT-FVF may serve as a reliable screening and quantitative tool for hepatic steatosis in patients with breast cancer.

BACKGROUND: Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is one of the most common disorders of the knee joint. Home-based exercise is an effective intervention to achieve self-management for chronic diseases. This study evaluated the effects of home-based exercise and health education in patients with PFP. METHODS: Patients who had PFP were randomly allocated to an intervention group (IG) or control group (CG). Patients in the IG received a 6-week tailored home-based exercise program with health education via remote support, while patients in the CG group only received health education. Clinical outcomes were compared using the Anterior Knee Pain Scale (AKPS) to measure function and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) to measure "worst pain" and "pain with daily activity". Muscle strength was measured according to the peak torque of the knee muscles using an isokinetic system. RESULTS: Among a total of 112 participants screened for eligibility, 38 were randomized and analyzed, including 19 participants in the intervention group and 19 participants in the control group. There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics between the groups. At 6-week follow-up, the intervention group showed a greater worst pain reduction (between-group difference, -19.3 [95%CI, -23.2 to -15.5]; P < 0.01) and pain with daily activity (between-group difference, -22.9 [95%CI, -28.3 to -17.4]; P < 0.01) than the control group. Similarly, the intervention group had better improvements in AKPS (between-group difference, 9.0 [95%CI, 4.1 to 13.9]; P < 0.01) and knee extensor strength (between-group difference, 20.1 [95%CI, 14.5 to 25.8]; P < 0.01), compared to the control group. No adverse events were reported. CONCLUSION: Home-based exercise and health education resulted in less pain, better function, and higher knee muscle strength compared with no exercise in patients with PFP. A large randomized controlled trial with long-term follow-up is required to confirm these findings. To realize the quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect in two-dimensional (2D) intrinsic magnetic materials, which combines insulating bulk states and metallic edge channel states, is still challenging in experiment. Here, based on first-principles calculations, we predicted two stable kagome-latticed QAH insulators: Cr3Se4 and Fe3S4 monolayers, with the Chern number C = 1. It is found that both structures exhibit a large magnetic anisotropy energy and sizable band gaps, and a topological phase transition from C = -1 to C = 1 occurs when the magnetization orientation changes from the z-axis to the -z-axis. Remarkably, the non-trivial topological properties are robust against biaxial strains of up to ±6%. Furthermore, a variable high Chern number of C = 2 or C = 3 can be observed by stacking two or three layers of the QAH monolayer with an MoS2 insulator. Our results signify that such layered kagome materials can be promising platforms for exploring novel QAH physics.

Global climate change has altered soil freeze‒thaw cycle events, and little is known about soil microbe response to and multifunctionality regarding freeze‒thaw cycles. Therefore, in this study, biochar was used as a material to place under seasonal freeze-thaw cycling conditions. The purpose of this study was to explore the ability of biochar to regulate the function of freeze-thaw soil cycles to ensure spring sowing and food production. The results showed that biochar significantly increased the richness and diversity of soil bacteria before and after freezing-thawing. In the freezing period, the B50 treatment had the greatest improvement effect (2.6% and 5.5%, respectively), while in the thawing period, the B75 treatment had the best improvement effect. Biochar changed the composition and distribution characteristics of the bacterial structure and enhanced the multifunctionality of freeze-thaw soil and the stability of the bacterial symbiotic network. Compared with the CK treatment, the topological characteristics of the bacterial ecological network of the B50 treatment increased the most. They were 0.89 (Avg.degree), 9.79 (Modularity), 9 (Nodes), and 255 (Links). The freeze-thaw cycle decreased the richness and diversity of the bacterial community and changed the composition and distribution of the bacterial community, and the total bacterial population decreased by 658 (CK), 394 (B25), 644 (B50) and 86 (B75) during the thawing period compared with the freezing period. The soil multifunctionality in the freezing period was higher than that during the thawing period, indicating that the freeze-thaw cycle reduced soil ecological function. From the perspective of abiotic analysis, the decrease in soil multifunctionality was due to the decrease in soil nutrients, enzyme activities, soil basic respiration and other singular functions. From the perspective of bacteria, the decrease in soil multifunctionality was mainly due to the change in the Actinobacteriota group. This work expands the understanding of biochar ecology in cold black soil. These results are conducive to the sustainable development of soil ecological function in cold regions and ultimately ensure crop growth and food productivity.

Freeze-thaw cycles (FTCs) usually occur in the nongrowing season of crops, and the temporal mismatch between soil nitrogen (N) supply and crop N utilization increases the risk of N loss. Crop straw burning is a seasonal air pollution source, and biochar provides new alternatives for waste biomass recycling and soil pollution remediation. To investigate the effect of biochar on N loss and N2O emissions under frequent FTCs, different biochar content treatments (0 %, 1 %, 2 %) were set, and laboratory simulated soil column FTC tests were conducted. Based on the Langmuir and Freundlich models, the surface microstructure evolution and N adsorption mechanism of biochar before and after FTCs were analyzed, and the change characteristics of the soil water-soil environment, available N and N2O emissions under the interactive effect of FTCs and biochar were studied. The results showed that FTCs increased the oxygen (O) content by 19.69 % and the N content by 17.75 % and decreased the carbon (C) content by 12.39 % of biochar. The increase in the N adsorption capacity of biochar after FTCs was related to changes in surface structure and chemical properties. Biochar can improve the soil water-soil environment, adsorb available nutrients, and reduce N2O emissions by 35.89 %-46.31 %. The water-filled pore space (WFPS) and urease activity (S-UE) were the main environmental factors determining N2O emissions. Ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N) and microbial biomass nitrogen (MBN), as substrates of N biochemical reactions, significantly affected N2O emissions. The interaction of biochar content and FTCs in different treatments had significant effects on available N (p < 0.05). The application of biochar is an effective way to reduce N loss and N2O emissions under the action of frequent FTCs. These research results can provide a reference for the rational application of biochar and efficient utilization of soil hydrothermal resources in seasonally frozen soil areas.

Biochar has great potential to increase the soil nutrient storage capacity. However, with aging, biochar gradually disintegrates and releases fractions with migration potential, resulting in unknown effects on soil nutrient regulation. Based on this problem, we used ultrasound to separate original biochar (TB) into potentially migrating biochar (DB) and residual biochar (RB). The elemental composition and pore characteristics of TB, DB and RB were analyzed. Different fractions of biochar were applied to black soil, and the kinetic model and isothermal adsorption models were used to explore the adsorption characteristics of different treatments. Then, the effects of initial pH and coexisting ions on adsorption were compared. The adsorption mechanism and potential leaching process of phosphorus in soil were investigated. The results showed that RB had higher O and H contents and was less stable than TB, while RB was more aromatic. The phosphorus adsorption capacity of different treatments was SRB (1.3318 mg g-1) > STB (1.2873 mg g-1) > SDB (1.3025 mg g-1) > SCK (1.1905 mg g-1). SRB had optimal phosphorus adsorption performance and storage capacity, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 1.6741 mg g-1 for the Langmuir isotherm, and it also showed excellent applicability in a pH gradient and with coexisting ions. The main adsorption mode of phosphorus by different treatments was monolayer chemisorption, related to electrostatic repulsion and oxygen-containing functional groups. DB was less effective in inhibiting soil phosphorus migration, with the cumulative leaching of SDB reaching 8.99 mg and the percentage of phosphorus in the 0-6 cm soil layer reaching only 15.42%. Overall, the results can help elucidate potential trends in the adsorption performance and migration process of soil phosphorus by biochar, and improve the comprehensive utilization efficiency of biochar.

BACKGROUND Lateral epicondylitis is a common clinical disease characterized by lateral elbow pain, seriously affecting patients' daily life and work. There is a lack of comprehensive and systematic visual analysis of the literature in this field. Therefore, we analyzed the literature on lateral epicondylitis in the past 30 years and summarized the hot spots and frontiers of research in this field to provide ideas and references for subsequent researchers. MATERIAL AND METHODS CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R-Bibliometrix tools were primarily used to collect, visualize, and analyze data from the literature on lateral epicondylitis in the Web of Science database's core dataset from 1990 to 2022. RESULTS There were altogether 1556 items in the literature. Recent years have seen a noticeable development trend in the volume of pertinent literature that is published annually. The United States took first place with 447 papers. Univ Queensland ranked first with 42 papers. Vicenzino B, an academic at the University of Queensland, Australia, ranked first, with 48 papers. CONCLUSIONS Yearly volumes and forecasts suggest the USA will continue to lead the world in publications on lateral epicondylitis, with extensive collaboration among authors. More collaboration is still needed in various nations and organizations, according to an analysis of the research literature from the previous 30 years. The mechanism of action of different injectable preparations, such as corticosteroids for the treatment of LE is still unclear, as well as the cellular transduction pathways through which PRP affects LE.

Carrots are a type of vegetable with high nutrition. Before entering the market, the surface defect detection and sorting of carrots can greatly improve food safety and quality. To detect defects on the surfaces of carrots during combine harvest stage, this study proposed an improved knowledge distillation network structure that took yolo-v5s as the teacher network and a lightweight network that replaced the backbone network with mobilenetv2 and completed channel pruning as a student network (mobile-slimv5s). To make the improved student network adapt to the image blur caused by the vibration of the carrot combine harvester, we put the ordinary dataset Dataset (T) and dataset Dataset (S), which contains motion blurring treatment, into the teacher network and the improved lightweight network, respectively, for learning. By connecting multi-stage features of the teacher network, knowledge distillation was carried out, and different weight values were set for each feature to realize that the multi-stage features of the teacher network guide the single-layer output of the student network. Finally, the optimal lightweight network mobile-slimv5s was established, with a network model size of 5.37 MB. The experimental results show that when the learning rate is set to 0.0001, the batch size is set to 64, and the dropout is set to 0.65, the model accuracy of mobile-slimv5s is 90.7%, which is significantly higher than other algorithms. It can synchronously realize carrot harvesting and surface defect detection. This study laid a theoretical foundation for applying knowledge distillation structures to the simultaneous operations of crop combine harvesting and surface defect detection in a field environment. This study effectively improves the accuracy of crop sorting in the field and contributes to the development of smart agriculture.

Background: In sports medicine, tendon and ligament injuries are the most prevalent conditions, and with the booming of sports competition, the incidence of sports injuries is gradually increasing, investigating more potent therapeutic options is therefore becoming increasingly crucial. Platelet-rich plasma therapy has gained popularity as an effective and secure treatment in recent years. Currently, a faceted systematic and clear visual analysis is lacking in this research area. Methods: The literature related to using platelet-rich plasma to treat ligament and tendon injuries from 2003 to 2022 in the core dataset of the Web of Science database was collected and analyzed visually using Citespace 6.1 software. Research hotspots and development trends were analyzed in terms of high-impact countries or regions, authors, research institutions, keywords, and cited literature. Results: The literature comprised a total of 1,827 articles. The annual publication volume of relevant literature has demonstrated a significant development tendency as the field of platelet-rich plasma research for tendon and ligament injuries has heated up in recent years. With 678 papers, the United States came in top place, followed by China with 187 papers. Hosp Special Surg ranked first with 56 papers. The hot research topics analyzed by keywords were tennis elbow, anterior cruciate ligament, rotator cuff repair, achilles tendon, mesenchymal stem cells, guided tissue regeneration, network meta analysis, chronic patellar tendinopathy, and follow up. Conclusion: Analysis of the research literature over the past 20 years shows that the United States and China will continue to dominate in terms of volume of publications based on annual volume and trends, with some collaboration among high-impact authors and further collaboration still needed in different countries and institutions. Platelet-rich plasma is widely used in the treatment of tendon ligament injuries. Its clinical efficacy is influenced by a number of factors, the main ones being the inconsistency in the preparation and composition of platelet-rich plasma and its related preparations, and the differences in efficacy due to different activation methods of platelet-rich plasma, as well as factors such as injection time, injection site, administration method, number of administrations, acidity and evaluation methods, In addition, the applicability to different injury diseases remains controversial. In recent years, the molecular biology of platelet-rich plasma for tendon ligament therapy has received increasing attention.

Exploring two-dimensional (2D) ferromagnetic materials with a high transition temperature and large magnetic anisotropy is extremely essential for highly efficient spintronic applications. With the density functional theory method, we predicted planar hypercoordinate transition-metal borides, TMB12 (TM = Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe; B = boron), by the condensation of TM@B8 and B4 units. The results showed that these transition-metal borides possess superior thermal, dynamic and mechanical stabilities. Interestingly, the TMB12 monolayer with TM = (V, Cr) is confirmed as a robust ferromagnetic metal with a high Curie temperature of ∼335 K and ∼221 K, respectively. In addition, the system with TM = (Mn, Fe) is found to be an antiferromagnetic metal with a Néel temperature of ∼173 K and ∼91 K, respectively. In particular, large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is identified for CrB12, MnB12, and FeB12 monolayers, around 198-623 µeV. Furthermore, four TMB12 (TM = Ti, V, Cr, Mn) systems are determined to be candidate catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction, with nearly zero free energy of hydrogen adsorption (ΔGH = -0.0003 to -0.03 eV). Our study highlighted potential 2D metal borides for spintronic devices and high efficiency electrochemical catalysts.

To study the accumulation characteristics of rice seeds with different moisture content, an accurate model of rice seeds was established by 3D scanning technology. The accumulation state of rice seeds by the "point source" accumulation method was analyzed by proportioning and measuring the simulation parameters with different moisture content. The accumulation process was simulated at 10.23%, 14.09%, 17.85%, 21.77%, 26.41% and 29.22% moisture content, respectively. The velocity and force state of the seeds were visually analyzed by using the accumulation process with a moisture content of 29.22%. The accumulation process was divided into four stages according to the velocity characteristics of the seeds. The average force and kinetic energy of the rice seeds outside the cylinder were obtained, and the average force of the rice seeds outside the cylinder was proved to be the direct cause of the velocity change during the accumulation process. The mechanical characteristics of rice seeds in the quasi-static accumulation stage were partitioned and systematically analyzed. The force distribution of the "central depression" structure of rice seeds with a moisture content of 10.23%, 14.09% and 17.85% on the horizontal surface appeared. The higher the moisture content of rice seeds, the more likely the typical "circular" force structure appeared, and the more uniformly the force on the horizontal surface was distributed in the circumference direction.

The occurrence of metastasis is a serious risk for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients. In order to develop novel therapeutic approaches to control the progression of metastatic RCC, it is of urgent need to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying RCC metastasis and identify prognostic markers of metastatic risk. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) have been known to be closely associated with extracellular matrix (ECM) turnover, which plays a highly active role in tumor metastasis. Recent studies have shown that immunophilin FK-506-binding protein 51 (FKBP51) may be important for the regulation of ECM function, and exert effects on the invasion and migration of tumor cells. However, the mechanisms underlying these activities remain unclear. The present study detected the role of FKBP51 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the most common subtype of RCC, and found that FKBP51 significantly promotes ccRCC invasion and migration by binding with the TIMP3, connecting TIMP3 with Beclin1 complex and increasing autophagic degradation of TIMP3. Given the important roles that TIMPs/MMPs play in ECM regulation and remodeling, our findings will provide new perspective for future investigation of the regulation of metastasis of kidney cancer and other types of cancer.

The fluctuation effect of corn grain often occurs during the unloading stage. To accurately explore the periodic pulsation characteristics of corn grain during the unloading stage, a discrete model of corn grain was established, and the effectiveness of the discrete element method in simulating the corn grain unloading stage was verified by a 3D laser scanner and the "spherical particle filling method". The grain cylinder was divided into six areas, and the periodic pulsation characteristics at different heights were explored through simulation tests. The results showed that the faster the average speed of corn grain changes in unit time, the more significant the periodic pulsation characteristics were as the height of grain unloading increased. The corn grain pulsateon in the grain cylinder exhibited gradual upward transmission and gradual amplification in the process of transmission. The average velocity decreased with increasing height. The direct cause of pulsation was the variation in the average stress between grain layers. Simulation analysis of grain unloading for different half cone angles of the grain cylinder was carried out. The change in corn grain average velocity over time in the area below 20 mm of the upper free surface was extracted. The results showed that the speed of the top corn grain increased with increasing the half cone angle, and the periodic pulsation phenomenon became more obvious with increasing the half cone angle at half cone angles of 30-65°. A half cone angle of 65-70° marked the critical state of corn grain flow changing from funnel flow to overall flow in the grain cylinder. This study provides a method for studying the periodic pulsation characteristics of different crops during the grain unloading stage and provides a technical reference for the safe design of grain unloading equipment.

Aims: To assess the efficacy and safety of adjuvant capecitabine in early breast cancer patients. Methods: A literature search of databases was conducted to identify randomized controlled trials reporting the efficacy and toxicity of capecitabine as adjuvant therapy in early breast cancer patients. Results: Six studies were eligible and included a total of 6941 patients. Disease-free survival (hazard ratio = 0.79; 95% CI = 0.71-0.88; p < 0.0001) was significantly improved with additional capecitabine, whereas improvement in overall survival (OS) was not significant. The more pronounced benefits in both disease-free survival and OS were observed among triple-negative breast cancer patients. Conclusion: Additional capecitabine in the adjuvant setting conferred substantial disease-free survival benefit and a tendency toward improved OS. Triple-negative breast cancer patients can benefit from capecitabine irrespective of the administration sequence. Capecitabine may be considered a preferred additional treatment for early-stage triple-negative breast cancer patients, and sequential capecitabine can serve as an alternative choice for patients with poor tolerance.


Lay abstract The authors' meta-analysis focused on the adjuvant role of capecitabine in early-stage breast cancer patients. The authors combined data from different studies to show that disease-free survival was significantly improved with additional capecitabine as adjuvant chemotherapy. Coleoptile/mesocotyl elongation influence seedling emergence and establishment, is major causes of maize deep-seeding tolerance (DST). Detailed analyses on molecular basis underlying their elongation mediated by brassinosteroid under deep-seeding stress (DSS) could provide meaningful information for key factors controlling their elongation. Here we monitored transcriptome and phytohormones changes specifically in elongating coleoptile/mesocotyl in response to DSS and 24-epibrassinolide (EBR)-signaling. Phenotypically, contrasting maize evolved variant organs to positively respond to DST, longer coleoptile/mesocoty of K12/W64A was a desirable organ for seedling under DSS. Applied-EBR improved maize DST, and their coleoptiles/mesocotyls were further elongated. 15,607/20,491 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in W64A/K12 coleoptile, KEGG analysis showed plant hormone signal transduction, starch and sucrose metabolism, valine, leucine, and isoleucine degradation were critical processes of coleoptile elongation under DSS and EBR signaling, further highly interconnected network maps including 79/142 DEGs for phytohormones were generated. Consistent with these DEGs expression, interactions, and transport, IAA, GA3, ABA, and Cis-ZT were significantly reduced while EBR, Trans-ZT, JA, and SA were clearly increased in coleoptile under DSS and EBR-signaling. These results enrich our knowledge about the genes and phytohormones regulating coleoptile elongation in maize, and help improve future studies on corresponding genes and develop varieties with DST.
